Integrated Schools Podcast Listening Group

We’re partnering with Integrated Schools’ new Oakland chapter to co-host the Integrated Schools Podcast Listening Group, which will launch on Tuesday, January 21, at 7:30 pm. This first event will focus on Episode 12 of the Integrated Schools podcast, which we’ll reflect on and discuss through the lens of our own experiences.

Navigating Middle School Enrollment

Equity Allies for OUSD and Integrated Schools hosted Navigating OUSD Middle School Enrollment, an event designed to help equity-minded parents, particularly those with racial and/or economic privilege, get the tools they need to make a thoughtful decision about Oakland middle school enrollment that aligns with their values. Parents from a number of OUSD middle schools talked about their day-to-day experiences.

Thanks to all the community members who attended our September 19th Equity Forum at Roosevelt Middle School.  Parents from more than a dozen schools joined us for a dialogue about:

  • District-wide organizing around the Schools and Communities First Ballot Measure

  • Equity work within your school site

  • The Equity Fund for OUSD schools​

Equity Allies hosted a facilitated public budget forum with Board Members Shanthi Gonzales, Aimee Eng and Jody London.  Questions were solicited from the community ahead of time.
